Zen.net ("Zen", "we", "us") is a link-in-bio and professional identity service operated by Radial Ventures. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers zen.net, the pages our members publish on zen.net, and the emails we send.
Our servers and our content delivery network log ordinary technical information with each request, including your IP address, the page requested, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, and a timestamp. Our content delivery network also derives an approximate location from your IP address, specifically country, region, and city. This is never your precise location, and we do not use GPS or device location.
When you interact with a member's Zen page, for example by opening it or clicking one of its links, we record that interaction so the member can see how their page is performing. That record includes the type of interaction, which link was involved, the referring page, your user-agent string, and the country derived from your IP address. We do not store your IP address in these interaction records, and we do not use them to build a profile of you across different members' pages.
We collect the name and email address you give us and the handle you asked for. From the request itself we also record your IP address, the approximate location derived from it (country, region, and city), your user-agent string, and any campaign tags (UTM parameters) present on the link you arrived from. We use this to hold your place, to invite people in the order they joined, to detect duplicate or automated signups, and to understand which channels bring people to Zen.
We collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in a readable form. We also store your handle, your display name if you provide one, your language and time zone preferences, and your onboarding progress.
If you choose "Continue with Google" instead of a password, Google tells us your email address, your name, and your profile picture URL. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not get access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, or any other Google data.
If you ask us to add a verified badge to your page, we keep the evidence you submit, such as links or email addresses, along with our review notes, so we have a record of why the badge was granted.
Your Zen page and everything on it is public. That includes your handle, bio, avatar and cover images, links, social accounts, and any other blocks you add. Search engines can index it. Please do not put anything on your page that you would not want the world to see.
Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's own payment page, not ours. Your full card number never reaches our servers and we cannot see it.
Stripe sends us back the information we need to run your subscription: a customer and subscription identifier, which plan you are on, your billing interval, your invoice and payment history, the billing email you used, and limited card details such as the brand and last four digits. We use this to give you the features you paid for, to show you your billing history, and to keep the tax and accounting records the law requires.
We keep a log of security-relevant account events, such as sign-ins and handle changes, together with the IP address they came from. We use these records to investigate abuse, fraud, and account takeovers.
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and no others:
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on our site. Because we only use cookies that are essential to providing the service you asked for, we do not show a cookie consent banner. You can clear or block these cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to stay signed in.
We do not track you across other websites, so there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with the service providers that make Zen work, and only so they can perform that work for us:
| Provider | What it does | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services | Hosting, database, file storage, content delivery, and outbound email | Effectively all service data, including request logs and the email we send you |
| Stripe | Payment processing and the billing portal | Your card details, billing email, and payment history |
| "Continue with Google" sign-in, only if you use it | Your email address, name, and profile picture URL |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request, or where we need to in order to protect our rights, our users, or the public. If Zen is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and we will say so before it takes effect.
Some parts of our pages load directly from other companies' servers. When that happens, your browser contacts them, and they can see your IP address and which page you were on, even though we do not send them any account information. Specifically:
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, the legal bases we rely on are:
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose, or to send you a copy in a portable format. Email support@zen.net and we will respond as required by the law that applies to you.
Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent, to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights, and to complain to a regulator. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area you can complain to your national supervisory authority. If you are in California, we confirm that we have not sold or shared your personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond what is needed to provide the service.
You can delete your Zen page or close your account at any time. Some records, such as payment history, must be kept for legal reasons even after your account is gone.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Traffic to zen.net is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, card details are handled entirely by Stripe, and access to production systems is limited to the people who need it. No service can promise perfect security, but if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant regulators where the law requires it.
Zen is hosted in the United States. If you use Zen from outside the United States, your information is transferred there and to the service providers listed above. Where those transfers involve personal information protected by United Kingdom or European Economic Area law, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
Zen is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email support@zen.net and we will delete it.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will tell you directly, for example by email or a notice in the product, before it takes effect.
Zen.net is operated by Radial Ventures. For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights above, email support@zen.net.
